Two Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
